Aster Volunteers, the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare, the leading integrated healthcare provider in the region, is spearheading its annual Ramadan outreach under the unified banner of the “Aster Volunteers ‘Joy of Giving’ Program.”
Supported by the collective network of Aster Hospitals, Clinics, Pharmacies, and Retail outlets, the program includes the distribution of 150,000 Iftar Kits across Dubai with the support of Dubai Police, alongside extended humanitarian outreach to remote desert communities. Now in its 7th year, the initiative reflects Aster DM Healthcare’s continued commitment to giving back to the community and spreading joy during the blessed month.
Led by Aster Volunteers, the Iftar distribution drive will see over 100 volunteers delivering essential Iftar kits to motorists across six major traffic junctions in Dubai during evening rush hour. Conducted with the support of Dubai Police, the initiative ensures safe and seamless distribution throughout the holy month.
Volunteers from Aster Hospitals & Clinics, Aster Pharmacies, and community members will distribute 150,000 Iftar boxes over 30 days. On average, around 5,000 boxes will be distributed daily, with some days reaching up to 6,000. Each box contains dates, water, a cake, and juice, providing much-needed nourishment to those breaking their fast while commuting.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare, commented, “Ramadan is a time of compassion, unity, and reflection. While our Iftar kit distribution ensures that motorists can break their fast safely and on time, our broader outreach efforts allow us to extend care to communities that often remain unseen. Through Aster Volunteers’ ‘Joy of Giving’ Program, we remain committed to bringing comfort, care and dignity to those who need it most.”
Major Tariq Alabedle, Duty officer, Al Rafaa Police Station added, “We are pleased to support Aster DM Healthcare in this meaningful initiative. Ensuring the safety and well-being of motorists during Ramadan remains a priority, and supporting such humanitarian efforts strengthens the spirit of solidarity within our community.”
As part of the same Aster Volunteers ‘Joy of Giving’ Program, outreach efforts are also being extended to some of the most remote desert outskirts of Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. This outreach focuses on vulnerable farm laborers and shepherds living in isolated shelters far from urban centres.
Through this initiative, volunteers are distributing one-month essential food and grocery ration kits to individuals and families working in challenging conditions with limited access to basic necessities.
Medical volunteer teams are also conducting preliminary health screenings and consultations, while providing essential medicines, skincare supplies, and vitamin supplements to support overall health and wellbeing.
These missions aim to deliver timely relief to workers who spend long hours under extreme weather conditions and whose contributions to the agricultural ecosystem often go unnoticed. By taking healthcare and humanitarian assistance directly to remote communities, Aster Volunteers reinforces its commitment to accessible care, community wellbeing, and inclusive social responsibility.
Last year, the campaign successfully distributed 150,000 Iftar Kits across the UAE, continuing Aster’s long-standing tradition of community service during Ramadan. This year’s consolidated Aster Volunteers ‘Joy of Giving’ Program further strengthens the organisation’s dedication to ensuring that no community is left behind.
Together, these Ramadan initiatives reflect Aster DM Healthcare’s enduring commitment to empathy, solidarity, and inclusive community care, ensuring that support reaches motorists on busy city roads as well as vulnerable workers in remote desert communities.
