Rebirth Beirut is hosting a new solo exhibition by Lebanese artist Lana Taher, entitled “Awakened Light,” in collaboration with Dr. Tony Karam and organized by Organiss Management. The exhibition marks another artistic milestone in Rebirth Beirut’s ongoing series of cultural and artistic initiatives aimed at supporting artists and strengthening Beirut’s vibrant cultural scene.
The exhibition will officially open on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and will run till October 17, 2026, welcoming visitors daily from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, except Sundays, at Rebirth Beirut’s headquarters on Gouraud Street, Gemmayzeh, Waqf El Roum Building, 1st Floor.
“Awakened Light” invites visitors into Lana Taher’s abstract world, where earth, sea, memory, and light intersect through layered textures and intuitive mark-making. Her works evoke landscapes that are not simply seen through the eye, but rather experienced through memory, emotion, and sensation.
Light lies at the heart of the exhibition, not merely as a visual element within the paintings, but as a symbol of transformation, renewal and the journey toward new horizons. Moving between landscape and abstraction, Taher’s works invite viewers into moments of contemplation and stillness, gradually revealing traces of movement, atmosphere, emotion and presence within each canvas.
Lana Taher is a Lebanese abstract artist whose work has been presented in exhibitions and art events in Lebanon and internationally. She has developed an artistic language centered on the relationship between nature, memory, and light, using color, texture, and layered compositions to express emotions and experiences that extend beyond the boundaries of traditional landscape painting.
On this occasion, Gaby Fernaine, President and Founder of Rebirth Beirut, emphasized the importance of preserving Beirut as a vibrant space for art and culture, saying:
“At Rebirth Beirut, we believe that bringing Beirut back to life is not limited to development projects or illuminating its streets and public spaces. It also means keeping the light of art and culture alive. We are delighted to host Lana Taher in an exhibition entitled Awakened Light, a title that strongly resonates with our own mission: to keep the light shining and to ensure that Beirut remains a space for hope, creativity, and renewal.”
Fernaine added that hosting artists and exhibitions is an integral part of the role Rebirth Beirut seeks to strengthen by transforming its Gemmayzeh headquarters into an open space for art, dialogue, and culture, alongside the association’s various projects and initiatives across the capital.
“Awakened Light” once again highlights the enduring relationship between art and the city, and Beirut’s ability, despite all its challenges, to continue creating beauty and embracing initiatives that bring movement, energy, and life back to its streets.
A portion of the exhibition’s proceeds will be dedicated to supporting Rebirth Beirut’s projects and initiatives serving the city of Beirut and its people.
