Students across GEMS Education’s four American curriculum schools have delivered another year of exceptional performance in the Advanced Placement (AP) examinations, with improvements recorded across every major attainment measure.
Over 1,750 AP examinations were completed this year by students from Grade 9 to 12, an 11% increase compared to 2025, reflecting the growing popularity of college-level study within GEMS schools.
Among the key highlights:
- 81% of all AP examinations achieved a score of 3 or above, up from 77% in 2025. Scores of 3 and above are widely recognised by universities and colleges around the world for advanced placement and college credit.
- 50% of examinations achieved Grades 4 or 5 up from 46% in 2025
- More than one in five examinations (21%) achieved the highest possible Grade 5, up from 19% in 2025.
- The average AP score increased to 3.5, with strong year-on-year improvements across the network.
GEMS School performances:
- GEMS Dubai American Academy saw strong performance with 23% Grade 5s and strong attainment at 83% Grade 3+
- Al Khaleej International School demonstrated consistently strong outcomes with Grade 4+ attainment at 54% and 83% Grade 3+.
- GEMS American Academy – Qatar showed solid performance, with 81% at Grade 3+ and delivering 49% Grade 4+.
- GEMS American Academy – Abu Dhabi saw nearly two-thirds (65%) of entries achieved Grade 3+ and 37% at Grade 4+.
The results reinforce GEMS Education’s commitment to providing students with rigorous university-level learning opportunities that prepare them for success at leading higher education institutions around the world.
