Ten years ago, Flat White opened its doors with a simple ambition: to serve great coffee and create a place where people wanted to spend time.
Since then, and what began as Qatar’s first third-wave coffee shop has become a familiar part of life in Doha. Acrossmorning rituals, business meetings, catch-ups with friends and creative collaborations, Flat White has grown alongside the city, earning its place among the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops.
Founded by Maryam Al-Bader and Nasser Al-Naemi in 2016, Flat White was created with the ambition of bringing specialty coffee culture to Qatar. Today, the brand’s coffee programme is led by Honoroast, the specialty roastery founded by the same founders behind Flat White, alongside a curated selection of coffees from internationally renowned roasters including The Barn, True love, and Filigree Coffee.
While specialty coffee and quality dishes remain at the heart of the experience, it is the atmosphere, relationships andsense of community that have come to define Flat White.
“Looking back, what means the most to us is the people who have made Flat White part of their lives,” said Maryam and Nasser. Over the years, we have watched friendships form, businesses launch, ideas take shape andcommunities grow around our tables. That’s always been the heart of Flat White.”
As Flat White enters its second decade, it is introducing a refreshed look that reflects both its journey over the past decadeand its vision for the years ahead.
The refreshed identity serves as a reflection of the values that have shaped Flat White since day one. Inspired by thespaces where people gather and the moments they share, the new look captures the warmth, hospitality and sense of belonging that have long defined the Flat White experience.
“The past ten years have given us the opportunity to better understand who we are as a brand,” the founders added.“This refreshed look isn’t about changing Flat White. It’s about expressing it more clearly. Coffee and food may bringpeople through the door, but it’s the conversations, relationships and shared experiences around them that havealways given Flat White its meaning.”
Today, Flat White operates ten locations across Qatar and is recognized as one of the brands that helped shape the country’s modern coffee culture.
The next chapter will see Flat White expand beyond Qatar for the first time, taking a brand shaped by Doha to newcities around the world while carrying forward the same commitment to quality coffee, quality food and creatingspaces where people come together.
