This year, Enfants de Lumière celebrates its 20th anniversary in Lebanon, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to serving people and preserving human dignity, based on a firm belief that living <a href="https://menainsights.com/vice-presidents-jiu-jitsu-cup-kicks-off-with-high-intensity-action-in-dubai/”>with dignity is a fundamental right for every individual—not only children.
The organization was founded in the aftermath of the Lebanese civil war by a group of young volunteers, and has since evolved into an active organization dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable families. While its name translates to “Children of Light,” its mission extends to entire families, recognizing that supporting the family as a whole is essential to ensuring better lives for children and fostering their growth in a stable and safe environment.
The organization works to provide essential needs to these families through sustainable food support programs. Assistance is delivered in a way that preserves beneficiaries’ dignity, through a system that resembles a shopping experience, avoiding any form of embarrassment or discrimination.
Its role goes beyond providing aid, focusing also on empowering families and strengthening their stability, which positively impacts society as a whole. Today, more than 300 families—approximately 2,000 individuals—benefit from its services each month, reflecting a strong model of solidarity and compassion within Lebanese society.
As part of its 20-year anniversary celebrations and ongoing fundraising efforts, the organization hosted a charitable entertainment event featuring a screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2 at ABC Dbayeh. Proceeds from the event were dedicated to supporting its humanitarian programs. This event is one of many that will take place throughout 2026 to mark this milestone.
In a statement, the organization expressed: “We extend our deepest thanks to all those who have supported our journey—individuals and institutions—and to everyone who believes in our mission and contributed to the success of these initiatives. Together, we continue to plant hope and build a brighter future in Lebanon.”
At a time of growing challenges, such initiatives remain a powerful reminder that solidarity is the path toward a better tomorrow—where human dignity is protected and every family is given a real opportunity to live with dignity and hope.
