This April, VNTG Grape & Cheese Society opens at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, bringing a more intuitive and approachable way to experience wine in the heart of Business Bay.
Rooted in curation, transparency and a relaxed sense of discovery, VNTG offers an alternative to the traditional wine bar experience in Dubai. The philosophy is simple: be serious about wine, easygoing about everything else.
Inspired by the ease and familiarity of a European enoteca, VNTG is designed as a social space first. Warm, understated and unpretentious, the venue invites guests to drop in and stay a little longer than planned, whether for a leisurely lunch, an after work glass, or an evening spent over bottles, plates and conversation. Located on the ground floor of JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, the venue features both indoor and outdoor seating.
The experience brings together a thoughtfully curated, ever evolving wine selection, a menu of considered, shareable dishes, and a cheese offering rooted in quality sourcing and craftsmanship.
The wine list features over 350+ labels from around the world, including more than 55 wines available by the glass. For those looking to explore further, VNTG offers a selection of curated wine flights, hand selected daily by the sommelier, designed as a guided way to taste, compare and discover new favorites or revisit classics.
The menu, developed by Chef Tom Allen, is created to pair naturally with the wines while standing confidently on its own. Highlights include mussels with white wine, garlic and seaweed butter; a hearty chicken pie with roast chicken sauce, creamed potato and Russian kale; and smoked roasted cauliflower with yoghurt, lovage and toasted pine nuts. Desserts such as apple tarte tatin and sticky toffee pudding round out the experience with a familiar, unfussy finish.
The cheese selection – which is available both for dine-in and retail – is sourced from renowned French affineur, Frères Marchand, known for their expertise in maturation and quality sourcing, bringing depth and authenticity to the offering, designed for grazing and pairing.
Built on transparency and value, the wine list moves away from traditional markups. Bottles are listed at retail price, with a VNTG corkage charge added and indicated through a simple cork system, keeping the system clear and consistent across the selection. By removing friction around pricing, the approach allows guests to focus on what matters, discovering and enjoying wine.
