For Ramadan 2026, Messika unveils Moderniste: a new jewelry statement and a daring evolution of the Maison’s creative language. Inspired by the Modernist movement, it draws on the principles of architecture, where structure prevails over ornament and volume finds its poetry in light. A manifesto of its time, Moderniste is sculpture carved in gold, bold in intent, heralding a new chapter for the Maison.
Ramadan unfolds as a season of rhythm, cycles, and intention. Aligned with the lunar calendar, the crescent moon ascends, guiding moments of reflection and poise. Light, the beacon of renewal, shapes Messika’s Ramadan campaign, illuminating Moderniste’s debut and its architectural lines.
This new collection anchors Valérie Messika’s contemporary approach to jewelry design. Guided by the radical purity of the Modernist movement, she sculpts gold as an architect defines space. The geometric blueprint is defined by contrast, as hexagonal rings and octagonal bangles strike against the curve of the circle, tension held in perfect equilibrium.
Moderniste modulates light as reflections alternate across faceted planes of polished and brushed gold, a subtle transformation mirroring the restraint, balance, and quiet energy of Ramadan. Though gold
takes center stage, diamonds remain ever-present, revealed either in brilliant pavé or set upon the pyramid itself as a final stroke of brilliance.
In tandem with creative director and AI storyteller Sybille de Saint Louvent, Messika redefines the pulse of modern design through digital artistry. AI is here utilized for the campaign as a precision instrument to articulate a new jewelry code through a cinematic language of deliberate quietude.
This ethereal voyage follows a woman as she navigates a surreal, spatial terrain guided by the radiance
of a crescent moon. The fluid motion of her veil provides a poetic counterpoint to the sharp, monolithic lines of the jewelry installations, echoing the collection’s inherent tension between grace and power. Her journey culminates at a levitating staircase, a symbolic ascent toward reflection where geometric precision meets the profound stillness of Ramadan.
Amidst this
holy month, Moderniste stands as a totem of balance, guided by the precise rhythm of light in motion.
