In response to the prolonged socio-economic challenges facing Lebanese families, the CMA CGM Foundation, chaired by Tanya Saadé Zeenny, reinforces its long-term commitment to food security through the distribution of 4,000 food parcels across Lebanon.
In partnership with numerous NGOs, the CMA CGM Foundation distributed 84 tons of essential goods throughout the country, reaching Akkar, Tripoli, Bourj Hammoud, Zahle, Beirut, Saida, Jezzine, Tyre, and the border villages. This large-scale operation provided vital food assistance to more than 20,000 people during the holiday season.
More than 200 staff members from the CMA CGM Group volunteered on the ground, working closely with beneficiary families. This hands-on involvement reflects the CMA CGM Foundation’s strong human and solidarity-driven commitment to supporting the most vulnerable communities.
Since 2020, the CMA CGM Foundation has distributed over 12,000 food parcels and provided 4 million hot meals across Lebanon. In addition, since 2023, the Foundation has been supporting the community kitchen “Cuisine de Mariam,” which produces and distributes more than 3,000 hot meals daily in the Quarantine neighborhood of Beirut.
Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation, stated:
“As a family-owned company with strong values of cooperation and solidarity, we are committed to responding to urgent needs on the ground. This food parcel distribution provides essential support to thousands of families, particularly during the holiday season, and takes on even greater meaning through the active involvement of our staff members.”
The CMA CGM Foundation’s Commitment in Lebanon
In Lebanon, the CMA CGM Foundation implements a range of complementary initiatives in the fields of humanitarian aid and education. Alongside its efforts to combat food insecurity, the Foundation delivers several hundred tons of humanitarian aid to the country each year through its Containers of Hope program. In 2025, this program enabled the transport of 270 tons of food supplies, medical equipment, and essential goods, supporting the operations of major humanitarian actors such as the Lebanese Red Cross and UNICEF.
At the same time, the Foundation supports impactful educational projects across Lebanon. It notably partners with the National Citizenship Project, led by the First Lady, which aims to strengthen the teaching of civic values in schools. Through its Future Skills training program, the Foundation also enables 150 young people each year to receive training in key sectors such as renewable energy, maritime transport, and agriculture. Finally, the Foundation leverages the industrial expertise of the CMA CGM Group to develop innovative solutions, including the conversion of shipping containers into mobile educational spaces or multimedia classrooms.
Through all of these initiatives, the CMA CGM Foundation contributes sustainably to strengthening the resilience of local communities and offering new future prospects to younger generations.
