Rebirth Beirut is proud to present “One Brush, Two Worlds,” a new solo exhibition by Lebanese artist Samir Tamari, curated by Dr. Tony Karam. The vernissage will take place on Thursday, December 4th, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Rebirth Beirut Space in Gemmayzeh, and will run until December 9th, daily from 2:00 to 7:00 PM (closed on Sunday). This exhibition, the artist’s second solo show held at Rebirth Beirut, brings forward a fresh body of work from Tamari showcasing his Abstract & Figurative series—an artistic journey that connects two creative worlds with a single brush.
In this exhibition, Tamari explores the delicate balance between the quiet rhythm of abstraction and the vivid presence of figuration. Through colors that breathe, textures that move, and faces that emerge from mystery, his paintings reflect both instinct and intention. A single brush becomes the messenger of duality, revealing emotions, memories, and hidden narratives. By embracing the courage to step beyond familiar territory, Tamari creates a visual dialogue that celebrates freedom, fluidity, and the boundless motion of imagination.
Born in Beirut and having studied Art and Advertising Techniques in Montreal, Samir Tamari draws deep inspiration from his childhood summers in Saghbine, West Bekaa. His works have been exhibited in Beirut, New York and Paris, and he continues to create from his studio in Beirut.
Reflecting on his artistic approach, Tamari states: “I do not paint as a technician, but as an interpreter of the soul. Each piece carries hidden messages, like a visual riddle. Nothing is accidental, there is always a concept waiting to be discovered. Even in my figurative compositions, spontaneity remains essential. I paint to express myself, to bring sincerity and lightness to themes that are often heavy. My art behaves like a soothing balm over difficult subjects — softening, illuminating and making the invisible felt.”
President and Founder of Rebirth Beirut, Gaby Fernaine, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting this new exhibition, saying: “At Rebirth Beirut, we believe that art has the power to rebuild what life has challenged. Samir Tamari’s work embodies this spirit—moving between worlds, emotions, and interpretations, and reminding us that creativity is a form of resilience. Presenting this exhibition is part of our mission to support Lebanese artists and foster a cultural revival that keeps Beirut’s pulse alive.”
A portion of the proceeds will go toward supporting Rebirth Beirut’s ongoing initiatives dedicated to the restoration and upliftment of the city.
