The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) launched the 13th edition of the ‘Bil Arabi’ initiative, featuring a wide lineup of community and entertainment activities designed to foster the use of the Arabic language and strengthen its role in everyday life. This year’s edition features an extensive range of programs, hosted across nine shopping malls throughout the UAE, along with several parallel events in Bahrain and Kuwait.
Coinciding with the World Arabic Language Day, observed annually on 18 December, the initiative delivers educational and awareness-raising content that highlights the importance of the Arabic language and its intellectual and cultural value. Furthermore, the event includes interactive activities and digital competitions organized within the shopping malls and through the ‘Bil Arabi’ digital platforms and social media channels, encouraging participation from all age groups.
His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, said: “The ‘Bil Arabi’ initiative is one of our most important knowledge projects. For more than a decade, we have worked to boost the prominence of the Arabic language among young generations and connect them to the beauty of their language and identity.”
“Each year, the initiative continues to broaden its positive impact through innovative activities that allow the public to engage with Arabic in enriching and inspiring ways. With every edition, we are strengthening our commitment to expand the scope of events within the UAE and beyond, reflecting the country’s role in supporting intellectual and knowledge initiatives and promoting the Arabic language across digital and social media spaces,” H.E. Bin Huwaireb added.
This year’s events are conducted across <a href="https://menainsights.com/kobe-tourism-bureau-showcases-japans-multicultural-port-city-in-dubai/”>City Centre Mirdif, Festival City Mall, and Etihad Mall in Dubai; My City Centre Masdar in Abu Dhabi; Bawadi Mall in Al Ain; City Centre Al Zahia in Sharjah; City Centre Ajman; City Centre Fujairah; and Manar Mall in Ras Al Khaimah. The program features educational and entertainment activities and digital competitions, along with attractive prizes designed to capture public interest and encourage positive interaction with the Arabic language.
The initiative is supported by robust collaboration with public and private entities in the UAE and beyond, underscoring the growing influence of ‘Bil Arabi’ in strengthening Arab cultural identity and enhancing the presence of the Arabic language in both society and digital spaces.
The ‘Bil Arabi’ initiative reaffirms its commitment to developing quality programs and content that promote Arab cultural identity, align with the UAE’s vision for advancing intellectual and knowledge-driven efforts locally and regionally, and encourage the use of Arabic across social and digital platforms. This helps to ensure the continued presence and influence of the Arabic language among local and global communities.
